KPandit Yahoogroup Code of
Conduct Rules
KPandit, a Kashmiri Pandit
Discussion Forum, hosted by Yahoogroups!, is a platform for sharing of
information, ideas and views for the Global Kashmiri Pandit (KP) community.
Subscribers/Members are
encouraged to contribute personal views as a positive feedback for the
community. We strongly discourage negativism because it is contagious
and in addition, it hurts, annoys, and discourages people in the
community.
Code of Conduct
Rules:
-
This forum shall be used
as an open forum to share views on social, religious, cultural and
political issues with fellow KPs.
-
Subscribers are
encouraged to provide personal views/comments about any relevant KP
issue, comment on the public actions of our community leaders, and
participate in discussion of any issue that touches our community.
-
The purpose of this
eForum is to provide a healthy and encouraging environment for
exchange of information, views, and opinions. In order to facilitate
and maintain such an environment, subscribers are required to practice
normally expected decency and be respectful of others.
-
Subscribers are required
to not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any
Content that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory,
vulgar, obscene, libelous, or invasive of another's privacy.
-
This group is configured
to not accept any attachments. Anyone interested in dissemination of a
large file should get in touch with the Moderator, who will arrange to
put the required file on one of our websites. Other members will be
informed about the file and its location on the web.
-
Any person posting a
news item on this eForum should identify the source of the news. The
source can be any news-wire, newspaper, news-magazine etc., along with
the date of original publication. It will help readers to refer to the
original source and read the detailed news item and other related
material, if they chose to.
-
All subscribers shall
subscribe by filling up the subscription form.
-
Individual posts are
held to contain the views and opinions of those that send the posts
and not those of the owners or the moderators of this forum.
-
Participation in this
forum is on a purely voluntary basis.
-
The terms of service and
code of conduct rules will be available in FILES section of this
forum's yahoogroup on the web and at
Terms of
Service and
Code of Conduct Rules.
Enforcement of Code of Conduct Rules:
Moderators ensure that communications on this
forum adhere to the stated Code of Conduct Rules. Moderators will
operate with the following "rules of engagement":
-
The moderators, individually and/or as a group, monitor the emails posted
on this forum.
-
If one or more
moderators feel that a particular post is not in keeping with
the letter (and spirit) of this forum, they will bring it to the
attention of the remaining moderators.
-
The full committee of
moderators (or a majority thereof) will review the post(s) in question and deliberate
amongst themselves as to whether or not it violates the guidelines.
-
If a majority of
moderators are of the opinion that the post(s) do indeed
violate the guidelines, they will take one of the following actions
depending on the severity of the violation:
(a) If the violation is
deemed a relatively minor one, an offline mail will be sent to the
member who posted that email to the group. The email will advise the
member what was found to be objectionable and (respectfully) request a
change in tone and/or content of future postings.
(b) A repeat violation
within reasonable time will automatically trigger a temporary suspension from the
group.
(c) In extreme cases
(hopefully rare), where the violation is deemed to be extremely
objectionable, the moderators can decide to permanently suspend the
member and remove him/her from the list. The member will not be
allowed to reapply for membership for at least 6 months after his/her
suspension.
-
Decisions made by the
moderators are final and are not subject to review or appeal.
