Kashmir News Network outraged at latest American Policy tilt towards terrorist Nation of Pakistan

Kashmir News Network (KNN) expresses grave concern at the latest American policy tilt towards the terrorist nation of Pakistan. In the last two days, the US has rejected an Indian demand for declaring Pakistan a state sponsor of terrorism, and has also announced the sale of strategic military transport aircraft to Pakistan. These decisions fly in the face of admissions by American officials themselves that Pakistan has done nothing to tear down dozens of terrorist camps operating from its territory. Leading US newspapers including the Washington Post have pointed out that Pakistan's dictator is dragging his feet on rooting out the Al Qaida from his country, and leveraging blind US support to further erode Pakistani democracy.

Twice during this year Musharraf has gone back on international commitments to end Pakistani sponsorship of terror in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. His threats to launch a nuclear war, in response to any Indian action to destroy Pakistani terror bases, was a clear indication that he will not hesitate to use nuclear blackmail to continue his support for terrorism. His testing of nuclear-capable missiles at the height of the India-Pakistan standoff in May further strengthen the belief that Pakistan is a rogue nation that is the clearest threat to international security, and has set a precedent for other problem countries such as North Korea and Iraq.

Kashmir News Network (KNN) considers current US policy towards South Asia as ludicrous and believes that it is:

(1) contributing to the continued terrorist killings in Jammu and Kashmir;
(2) endangering the national security of the largest democracy in the world;
(3) perpetuating the rogue nation status of Pakistan, and in the process setting a dangerous precedent for other rogue countries of the 21st century;
(4) allowing the Al Qaida considerable scope to regroup and plan future international terrorist attacks and
(5) proving to the world that the US-led "anti-terror war" is largely a sham.
