Kashmir News Network Demands Removal of UNMOGIP

Kashmir News Network (KNN) strongly deplores the remarks made by the head of the United Nations Military Observers Group based in Jammu & Kashmir State of India.

Major General Hernann Loidolt’s comments in which he mentioned Kashmir as a "tormented country" are totally uncalled for. As per UN’s charter, United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) has no role in commenting upon political situation in Jammu & Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir’s accession to India is unquestionable and UN observer should refrain from passing such political judgments. KNN strongly believes that the only pending issue between India and Pakistan is the issue of Pak-Occupied Kashmir and that issue needs to be resolved bilaterally by India and Pakistan.
